Compañeras y compañeros de Los Ángeles, California que se organizan
con La Otra del Otro lado:
Navegando en el ciberespacio descubrimos sus actividades en el otro
lado, entre ellas el retiro del 4 de marzo en Los Ángeles, donde se reunirán compañeros y compañeras chicanos, mexicanos, y hermanos yhermanas de otras partes del mundo y es por eso que les mandamos el siguiente mensaje:
Nuestro México lo están entregando a sus amos neoliberales estos malandrines que están en nuestro suelo, por eso es totalmente necesario organizarnos los mexicanos y los chicanos para rescatar nuestra patria. Nos alegra mucho que le estarán dando al trabajo para pensar, analizar, discutir y estudiar qué hacer y cómo hacer por nuestro México querido. Es preciso ver los seis puntos porque es lo que nos mostrará al pueblo de México como otra organización diferente, y sobre todo nos mostrará cómo se hace otra política.
Por eso hay que pensar y discutir mucho sobre los seis puntos, porque es así como vamos a llegar a la organización que queremos y la que necesita nuestro pueblo mexicano.
Trabajen pues con todas las ganas, piensen con mucho ánimo, ya que la lucha nunca será en vano. Recuerden que México nos necesita y lo necesitamos; mientras que los neoliberales están ansiosos porque su nueva finca o hacienda se llame México. Esto no lo permitiremos jamás.
Todos los mexicanos y chicanos debemos luchar para que México no sea la finca o la hacienda de los neoliberales, pase lo que pase y cueste lo que cueste.
A nuestros hermanos norteamericanos y de otros países que tienen buenos sus corazones y no están de acuerdo con las bestialidades que hacen los neoliberales en nuestro planeta Tierra, les decimos que bienvenidos sean a esta lucha mundial que queremos continuar con lo que llamamos ya El Otro Encuentro Intergaláctico.
Hay que pensar mucho las propuestas, discutir las cosas mejor, que el gasto de energías se concentre en cómo hacer mejor nuestra lucha antineoliberal y anticapitalista. Que nuestra visión y pensamiento se encamine a dar el paso que queremos, planteando todo hacia la organización de un mundo nuevo, diferente y mejor.
Hoy nos necesitamos todos y todas. Sabemos que son pocos los maleantes del mundo pero sabemos también que son poderosos. Poderosos por el dinero que quieren que reine y gobierne en el mundo. Esto no lo pueden hacer sin el trabajador y la trabajadora. Y nosotros somos mucho más fuertes organizados.
Somos millones los que entendemos esto, pero hacer no es nada fácil.
Este es el reto. Recordemos siempre que los neoliberales no se arrepentirán de hacernos daño y lo que se le de la gana. Y también nosotros nos arrepentiremos si no luchamos y no nos organizamos.
Nuestros hijos, nietos y bisnietos lamentarán que sus papás y sus mamás hayan permitido todo esto.
Por eso hermanos y hermanas del otro lado, sabemos que tienen buen su corazón y por eso vamos a trabajar juntos. Discutamos, propongamos, discutamos, soñemos también con nuestro Encuentro Intergaláctico.

MARCOS: FOX, "MALVENDIENDO" MÉXICO

LOS ÁNGELES, CALIFORNIA (AMATE) 11/3/2006.- El subcomandante Marcos acusó al gobierno encabezado por el presidente Vicente Fox de estar "malvendiendo el país a los capitalistas que lo quieren todo", y por ello lo calificó de "coyote".
En palabras durante un encuentro en la localidad de La Veracruz, Cadereyta, Querétaro, que visitó esta semana con motivo de su gira bajo el título de "La Otra Campaña" Marcos subrayó que "el gobierno está destruyendo el país al actuar como intermediario mañoso que valiéndose de las leyes está quitando todo a los mexicanos de abajo para entregárselo a los empresarios".
El dirigente del Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional puntualizó que se hace necesario "construir otro México, a través de un Plan Nacional de Lucha, que incluya una nueva Constitución".
Ante campesinos e indígenas, Marcos fustigó a los candidatos presidenciales mexicanos actuales por "estar destruyendo y vendiendo al país".
Los campesinos e indígenas que escucharon al subcomandante zapatista protestaron por planes de privatización de la tierra en su comunidad. Uno de ellos afirmó que se busca "que desaparezcamos los campesinos. Nosotros le estorbamos porque ellos son empresarios; nosotros tenemos tierritas que a ellos les hacen falta".
"Muchos campesinos caen en la trampa al pensar que sus tierras carecen de valor y hasta dudan que los cerros encierren alguna riqueza. Sin embargo, muchas empresas están interesadas en los minerales que existen en esas tierras", expuso.
"Al rato vamos a pagar por el agua, por la leña, ya no vamos a poder pastorear animalitos, ya no vamos a poder decir nada cuando vengan a talar nuestros bosques,
porque ya van a ser del gobierno", dijo uno de los asistentes.

The Reason for the Other Campaign on The Other Side
We are part of the National and International Society, who, like hundreds of thousands of people in Mexico and around the world, identify with and follow the process of the Zapatistas in Mexico with great interest.
We know that the EZLN, the Zapatista National Liberation Front, spent many years in preparation before appearing on the scene; and that ever since it’s famous shout of “íYa Basta!” (That’s Enough!) on January 1st, 1994, it has, along with the community that supports it, firmly resisted the threats, provocations and attacks from both the Mexican federal government and the state government of Chiapas where it is headquartered.
Here in the United States there are also good people who resist. An example of this is the resistance against the offensive stance of the US federal government who would use our youth for canon fodder.
Many are battling against the current governor of California; a right-wing Republican who has more muscle than brains and who has made every effort to introduce fear and divisiveness into our communities by attacking the immigrants; one of the most unprotected sectors in this country.
Just like the Zapatistas of Mexico and of the world, we will not give up, and we will not ask anyone’s permission to be free. Of course we welcome and share the ideas and the proposals of anyone who believes in a different and better future, and we will gather our forces to make sure that all of this results in a world in which there is justice and room for all.
We are the people: students, teachers, housewives, workers, activists, artists, some young and some not so young. Many of us Mexicans, and others; sisters and brothers, internationalists – from this and from other continents- that agree and share the same dreams.
With this we want to say that from this point on we ally ourselves with the position of the Sixth Declaration of the Lacandona Jungle; the Zapatista iniciative that no longer belongs just to the EZLN, but which now belongs to the world. This was agreed upon by the delegates; participants in the meetings which took place in August and September of 2005 in the land freed by our Zapatista brothers and sisters.
It can be counted on that we will honor our word, pledged in the plenary sessions; and that, …well, we are with “La Otra Campaña” ( The Other Campaign). Of course, in our case, that means “On the Other Side” (en el otro lado). That is to say, in, for, over, and around the border. In other words, from here to there and from there to here….an exercise that at the end of the day and for years and years is what millions of us Mexicans and Latinamericans have done, do, and will continue to do.
In short; as the mule cart drivers say, we’ll see you on the road - and also hopefully at the Zapatista gatherings in Chihuahua and Baja California in the Spring.
And so, we send greetings from this part of the occupied Americas.
The words of Subcomandante Insurgente Marcos:
“ The problem that we see is that in order to be succesfull, it is necesary for The Other Campaign to be truly adopted by each of you as your own campaign; like a task of your organization, or your group, or your collective, or you as an individual if you don’t belong to a group…..
And so, we ask that when you talk about this, that you discuss it without the need to convince the group or each of the participating members of your idea. Present these ideas with complete freedom; but present them publicly; because the debate and the political discussion make our thoughts bigger.
If we manage, in The Other Campaign, to construct a space for the Word; a space where the word of the excluded ones is heard, whether or not they belong to the Other Campaign, We will acquire the moral authority that nobody else in this country has.
But also, beyond anything else, the things that are going to give us the identify of “The Other Campaign” will be constructed, not in the discussion, but in the work.”
